Audio stays in the browser
When you drop a song on StemSplitterLab, the file is decoded on your device. It is kept in this browser’s storage so the library can open it again. Separating it, changing the speed or the pitch, looping, and exporting WAV or MP3 all use that local copy. The song is not uploaded to StemSplitterLab, and there is no account it could be attached to.
If you delete a song from the library, that local copy is removed. Clearing this site’s data in the browser removes the library as well. We do not have a second copy to restore.
The separation file
The separation file is not inside the page. Soon after the stem splitter or a remover page opens, on a phone or a computer, the browser starts the download in the background. A ring shows progress, and you can hide it. Data saver skips it. Text pages do not start it. The default file is about 136 MB. A four-stem choice is a smaller download. The request is that file alone. It does not include your audio. The browser stores the response and reuses it, so a later visit does not download it again.
A small program that runs the split is loaded from this site when a split starts. It is not loaded merely because you opened the page. A larger program, if needed for a faster split, is loaded with that same download.
Page views and request logs
A cookieless page-view counter is on for this site. It records aggregate page views. It does not collect personal data, and it does not receive your audio. There is no advertising script. The server that delivers the pages also keeps ordinary request logs, such as the address of the page and a user agent. Those logs are not a product, and they do not contain the contents of your songs.
The language switch stores your choice in this browser after you click it. The page does not read that choice in order to change what a search engine indexes. Email you send to the address on the contact page is ordinary mail, and it is the one place where you are deliberately sending us a message.
